Film & TV writers have incredible persuasive power and reach to educate audiences through authentic and resonant storytelling. That’s why we hope you’ll join Variety, the Ad Council and COVID Collaborative in the largest communications initiative in U.S. history: a massive public education campaign to inspire more confidence in the COVID-19 vaccines.
On June 29, hear from market research and messaging experts from
the Ad Council, for an in-depth briefing on all the ways you can help, including:
- How your scripts and storylines can integrate the key vaccine facts and framing that resonate with hesitant audiences
-How to create simple, impactful online content with your casts and other talent, whether you're currently on a production or not
Here’s why your participation is key:
• Nationwide, nearly 4 in 10 adults have not been vaccinated at all. While many states (including California) have surpassed 70% vaccination rates, many states are hovering around 50% or under.
• Vaccine uptake has plateaued in recent weeks—and 1 in 3 Americans who want to “wait and see” currently plan to wait at least a year to get vaccinated.
• As states ease restrictions this summer, and more activities move indoors in the fall and winter, COVID will continue circulating in our communities.
• With kids 12-15 newly eligible for vaccines, and kids under 12 expected to become eligible later this summer, parents have new questions and concerns.
